Savvy Event Archive
We had over 350 people participate in this event and minus expenses we raised over $35,000 to go directly to MSF5m, as well as over $20,000 spent with local sponsoring businesses.
Savvy Survivor is a week-long event, which runs twice a year winter & summer. 4 tribes, each with 80 plus members compete for the Survivor title.
This fundraising event is put on by BaiMed Physio & raises funds for the local charity Greenacres.
Savvy sponsored this event and entered our most talented runners to have a go.
A weekend of hard core surviving, those brave enough to attend were pushed to their physical & mental limits. A group of 40 savvy members were taken south to an undisclosed location for a camping trip (no cabins or showers, not even a camp fire for toasting marshmellows!)
With most of us having been affected by a women's cancer in some way or another at Savvy we feel it's important to get on board with such an important and relevant charity.
This year - Oct 24 2009 - we had a swap night & the Savvy girls shopped up a storm, drunk plenty of pink bubbles & raised over $1400.00 for breast cancer.
Another great Cancer Council Event supported well by Savvies. This 24 hour event sees a strong contingent of Savvies and their families out in force doing laps of the Kerryn McCann Track and supporting each other throughout the day and night. A brave crew stay on through the night & manage to keep team members on the track throughout the night.
The most committed Savvies managed to clock over 100 laps of the 400m track each, a group setting off on a 25km run at 2am in the morning!
Some very motivated Savvy members backed up after Relay for Life, heading to Sydney for the Sydney Running Festival. We had 42k, 21k, 9k & 5k runners over 30 of us in total enjoying the spectacular views that running over the Harbour Bridge offer.
Over 60 Savvys got up bright & early to make the bus trip to the heart of Sydney to complete the run over to Bondi Beach.
The worlds largest running race with over 70,000 participants it is quite an a event. Brilliantly organised & great to be a part of.
Its soooo much harder getting up for 6am in the winter!
But we did it and we did it all week & raised for the local charity The KidzWish Foundation.
