When did you start Savvy & Why:

Coleen
-  I had always played sport, tennis, touch, netball  or swam but in the last couple of years I had a number of operations  and had just become lazy. I decided I needed to change my life style.

My daughter Jayne rang and asked me if I would join her and my husband Brett who was already a Savvy member, in the Survivor Green Team Dec 2010. The first session I was almost in tears, I was so nervous; I remember thinking what was I a 55 year old doing there with all young fit people around me. Once the activities began, I joined in and loved it.

Brett and Jayne really encouraged me with each activity.  During that week I ran 2klms. I was so excited; I won the green towel one night. That was it, I had received the shot of Savvy blood and I was hooked!!  I have since recruited my 2 sisters to Savvy.

Brett – Jayne asked me to join Green Survivor team in July 2010.  I joined as a member of Savvy after Survivor, the motivation being was to personally challenge myself each time.  My current is goal (of course not being a competitive person!!)  is to one day wave good bye to my daughter Jayne as I pass her on a  road run!!!)

Favourite Class:

Coleen – Running certainly not Punch

Brett - Interval

What do you enjoy most about Savvy: Meeting new people and we appreciate the great friendly staff always offering a new challenge and encouragement at every training session.

What have you gained from Savvy, have you achieved any goals:

Coleen – I can’t believe that after only 3 months training that I ran two 5km fun runs and did not stop.

Brett – My training is now disciplined and I enjoy the company of other Savvy members.  We look forward to Savvy as part of our daily routine.

Anything you would like to say: We would like to thank all the fantastic Savvy staff.  The encouragement you have given us to train hard and reach a good level of fitness is  fantastic.

Thanks for opening Savvy South this has made our training easier as it is only 2 minutes from our home.  We can’t thank you all enough.  We will endeavour to recruit new members so that they can have the wonderful experience of fitness that we have gained by being Savvy Members.
