Tips for Soft Sand Running
Sand is a fantastic tool for training from the beginner to the elite athlete. Running on the soft sand is hard work. The instability of this surface requires the use of many more muscles in the body and therefore increased energy output.
To make it a little easier for you I have come up with some tips:
Just Run
Running is one of the best exercises a person can do to improve fitness and reduce body fat. You won’t even require any equipment all you need is a good pair of running shoes and off you go.
If you're just getting started with running, try some of these strategies to make your runs longer -- and more enjoyable.
Burn Body Fat
I’ll let you in on a little secret that people tend to forget time and time again…… there is NO SECRET to burning body fat.
There is no magic pill or diet shake that is going to make you miraculously slim. It frustrates me to see companies profiting from selling people gimmick programs that promise results but don’t deliver or if they do deliver it is so short term that it wasn’t worth the investment!
Stuck? Get Help!
Often it is difficult to start a health & fitness plan when you don’t know where to start or what to do. You don’t have to do this on your own as chances are there is a fitness professional near you that you can easily access.
Many people waste time and money trying to do it on their own without getting a lot accomplished in return. If this is the case and you may need some healthy assistance to get you on the right track.
Group Exercise – What’s the big deal?
There are two kinds of exercisers, those who go solo and those who prefer to be part of a pack. You have probably witnessed group fitness in the gym or the multiple groups of people running around our beaches.
So what is the big deal and why is group exercise so popular?
Energisers Exposed
It is common for people to suffer from energy slumps, especially mid afternoons during work hours.
How we have slept, what we eat, what we do, or possibly don’t do can all play a role in the fighting a case of heavy eyelids and slow thought processes.
My top tips for boosting energy levels and providing a lift in your day involve the following:
You Snooze, You Lose!
You know the feeling when your alarm rings and it is time to get up. You have set it the night before with the greatest intentions to rise early and start that new fitness regime.
Instead you reach for the snooze button and roll over.
One too many hits on the snooze and you have completely missed your morning workout.
Real Resolutions Realised
Welcome to the new year and with it brings high hopes of new beginnings. Out with the old and in with the new. Too often, though, the new year’s resolution becomes a failed attempt due to its novel nature.
We tend to set unrealistic goals or fail to place a plan behind what we declare we will conquer!
Boost your Metabolism
Within our body our metabolism works tirelessly to keep all processes of your body going and burn energy. The faster your metabolism the more kilojoules you burn and unfortunately as we get older it slows down.
There are a number of factors that determine your metabolism's speed like gender and genetics, however, you can have an amount of control over this too by controlling the amount and what food you eat and exercise you do.
Getting it Done
Got a deadline? Important work to do? Keep putting it off, doing everything else but?
Do you ever waste time, procrastinate, find other things to do while at work. Putting of the hard tasks and being distracted by everything else, emails, breaks, face book etc.
Read on for some tips to get you focused and firing again.
